AUB Media Awards 2025 Laureates Visit RT Academy for Workshops and Tours

Laureates of the AUB Media Awards 2025 — leading journalists from nine African countries — visited RT Academy. Over two days, they completed an intensive educational programme, immersed themselves in the TV channel's operations and shared work experiences with RT experts.

Journalists toured the network's facilities, visiting the newsrooms of RT Arabic and RT International, met with anchor Rory Suchet, and explored the heart of the broadcast studios. The programme included welcome addresses from Anna Kovtunova (Head of Educational Projects), Natalia Lebedeva (Head of RT en français), and Alexey Nikolov (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, RT). Alexey Nikolov discussed working in international journalism, changes in the media sphere amid new realities and the current trends.

Arseniy Samsonov, Chief Editor of RT en français, outlined the history of the French-language division, the role of a chief editor, and RT's overall editorial policy with a focus on French-speaking broadcasting.

Journalists met with correspondents Daria Vaganova (RT en français) and Igor Zhdanov (RT International), who shared case studies from their reporting work. RT en français anchors Oleg Shommer and Amin Toutah revealed the secrets of on-air mastery, while producer Anton Shmakov discussed content creation and production.

All journalists received participation certificates and gifts from RT upon completing the programme.
